I miss You:
Mmmm... the piano intro on this has
positively calmed my spirits, and I sit here with a dreamy look on my face,
ready to be in love with the world. Such beautiful playing. The bass is
introduced like a man walking up behind the woman of his dreams, and
embracing her, while she holds onto his arms... the love absolutely
emulates from the introduction alone.
The vocal comes in with a deep, manly voice -- breathy and sensual with
every note. The tone and quality of the vocal enhances the visualization I
received earlier, and I find my head tilting more and more to the side, as
I melt into a dreamy world of passion and relaxation.
Emptiness: First thing I noticed is that there's quite a bit of
hiss in this one, that could very easily be taken out with a software
filter. Mmm... there's that dreamy voice again... dang, man, you have
quite the gift, don't you? You nail each note with the accuracy that'd put
even a Diva to shame! Another rare moment for me, I actually like the
"trills" you sing... you know.. when you take a note and swirl
it around and across several? Normally, I don't like these, as artists
tend to take them a bit too far, now-a-days. Excellent use of the
brush-drum, and a perfect signature for jazz.
An excellent mix on this (aside from the hiss, which was drowned out later
with the music, so it wasn't much of a problem, really). The volumes on
the music and vocals were set perfectly, and your enunciation is
positively remarkable... I pulled up the lyrics, but didn't need to... the
diction on this was probably the most, or certainly among the most,
clearest I've heard... nothing short of amazing, and something you should
be overly proud of... every consonant was clear and well-spoken, with no
hiccups or standouts of any kind, whatsoever. Definitely a song to make
one sigh.
The harder I fall: Great piano movement in the intro. I loved how
the additional instruments and vocals came in at the same time. Good
decision on doing this. Again, an incredible mix. I loved the guitar
panning to the R channel. This is a head roller, to be sure. The guitar
playing is AWESOME! It has a beautiful and well-moving melody in the lead,
and a nice crispness in the strum. I liked the drum pattern, with the tap
and brush strokes.
